Blue pottery ceramic bird hooks set on metal hardware, designed for use as coat hooks, robe hooks, or wall hooks.
Each ceramic piece is hand painted and shaped into a bird form, then mounted to create a functional wall hook.
Jaipur ‘blue pottery’ is a distinctive craft from the Jaipur region of Rajasthan, developed in the 17th century.
It is made from a quartz and glass based mixture combined with multani mitti (fuller’s earth) rather than clay, then shaped in molds and hand painted.
A final glaze uses cobalt oxide to produce the characteristic blue tones this style is known for.
Sold individually. Color variations from what is photographed here are natural, as each piece is individually hand-painted.
Bird hooks are about 4.5" tall.
