"Om mani padme hum" is a six-syllable Sanskrit mantra and one of the most well-known mantras in Tibetan Buddhism.
According to the Dalai Lama, the mantra means that with intention and wisdom, one can achieve a Buddha's pure body, speech, and mind on the path of life.
The five colors of Buddhism are represented in these colorful cotton cloth square flags. Blue represents the sky, white represents the air, red symbolizes fire, green symbolizes water, and yellow symbolizes earth. All five colors together signify balance.
These fluttering prayer flags with mantras and prayers printed on them are connected along their top edges to a long string. It is believed, as they flutter in the wind, the prayers will be blown upwards in offering, and will bring fortune, happiness and good health to all who hang them as well as their families, loved ones, neighbors and all the people around the world.
They represents Peace, Compassion, Strength, and Wisdom.
