Each basket is individually crafted from sturdy Typha (cattail) stalks and salvaged plastic strips used to make mats.
Cattails grow abundantly in rural Senegal, so women can earn a sustainable income from basket weaving. The natural grass baskets are often embellished with colorful strips of plastic salvaged from a nearby mat factory.
Sizes are displayed in the menu as diameter x height (with lid). As each basket is unique, sizes do vary, sometimes up to an inch
